When he was six Rik survived a huge fire right next to his house. His skin remained intact, but a spark caught on and kept burning forever. At school it was hard to control that fire; pots & pans were melting and books caught on fire. Rik ran away and went around the world. During his travels he learned lessons other than in school; unwritten, but told. Stories around the bonfire in the jungle, told by holy men at the sacred fire, or just the fireplace in a bar. Now he is back to share his stories. And yes, sometimes a book still catches on fire, but that is OK. Books are not essential for a good story.
